From Konkan Farms to Your Home: The Kokan Development Journey
Every Kokan Development product has a journey behind it. That journey begins in the region and ends at your home.
1. Start with the region
Kokan Development begins with Konkan and its farms, forests, food traditions and people. We look for products that carry a genuine connection to the region and can be brought to customers with care.
2. Connect with producers
Our work is rooted in a farmer-producer company model. Kokan Development Agro Producer Company Ltd. brings farmer members together and works toward better market access, value addition and commercialization of regional produce.
3. Source the produce
Raw materials are sourced through regional networks and producer relationships. Depending on the product, this can involve farm produce or ingredients collected from natural environments.
4. Sort and prepare
Produce needs to be assessed and prepared for its next stage. Sorting, grading and other preparation steps vary from product to product.
5. Process and add value
Some regional produce is sold in a form that needs little processing. Other products are transformed into convenient formats such as cashew kernels, mango pulp, kokum syrup or wood-pressed coconut oil.
Value addition helps regional produce travel beyond the place where it is grown while creating more opportunities to build value around the original product.
6. Pack and protect
The finished product is packed for storage, transport and use. Packaging is not just about presentation — it also needs to protect the product on its journey.
7. Reach your home
Finally, the product moves from our supply chain to the customer. The journey that began with a farm, forest or regional producer ends in an everyday kitchen or home.
Why this journey matters
When you buy a regional product, you are not only buying an ingredient. You are connecting with a place, a production system and the people who make that value chain possible.
From the region to your home — that is the journey we want Kokan Development to make visible.
